Islas Menores Marina to host the Windsurfer Class “Vuelta al Mar Menor” in September

The waters of the Mar Menor, and specifically the Islas Menores Marina in the Region of Murcia, will become the stage next September 2026 for the Windsurfer Class “Vuelta al Mar Menor”.

This regatta, which serves as a qualifying event for teams in this discipline, will bring together a total of 90 sailors, consolidating itself as a key date in the nautical calendar.

The event will also feature 14 coaches and an organising team of 11 people. Expectations are high, with competitors due to arrive not only from Murcia but also from neighbouring provinces such as Alicante and Almería, generating a notable boost for tourism promotion in the area.

Commitment to the environment and strong technical and logistical support

In line with today’s major sporting events, the “Vuelta al Mar Menor” stands out for its strict environmental focus. With the aim of promoting sustainability and the fight against climate change, the organisers have confirmed that no plastic will be used during the regatta, relying exclusively on biodegradable and recycled materials in all areas of the event.

To ensure the smooth running and safety of the races, a technical team has been coordinated, made up of three people on the committee boat, two on the observer boat, two on the finish boat, two mark layers, one race officer, and staff in charge of the race office and results. On the equipment side, three support vessels, three RIBs, and eight racing marks with their moorings will be deployed.
