Second Marina Islas Menores Dinghy Sailing Trophy to be held on 16 and 17 July

The waters of the Mar Menor will host the second Marina Islas Menores Dinghy Sailing Trophy on 16 and 17 July, a regatta that will bring together around 80 sailors from different clubs in the Region of Murcia and neighbouring autonomous communities.

The event, jointly organised by Marina Islas Menores and the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena, will be sailed in several dinghy classes. Covering both youth and junior categories, the regatta will establish itself as one of the benchmark sporting events for developing young sailing talent along the Murcian coastline.

A regatta with sporting and environmental values

Following its official presentation by representatives of both organisations and local authorities at the marina facilities, this second edition of the trophy moves forward with a clear ambition to secure its place in the regional sailing calendar.

In addition to promoting high‑level competition, the organisers have highlighted that the main aims of the event are to support grassroots sport and raise awareness among young sailors about respecting and preserving the marine environment in the unique setting of the Mar Menor.
